South Pointe Principal to Retire

Rock Hill School District releasing this information about longtime educator, South Pointe Principal Al Leonard.

RELEASE: This is a brief note to inform everyone that South Pointe High School principal Dr. Al Leonard announced earlier this afternoon to his staff that he will be retiring at the end of this school year. After 30 years in education, Dr. Leonard says this “will always be a special place to me” and that he has been “fortunate to have been part of a community and district that have high expectations for its schools”.

After moving into administration in his 5th year, he has held principal positions at Rosewood, Sullivan, Saluda Trail, and South Pointe. He successfully opened Saluda Trail Middle School and South Pointe High School.
