Suspect Assaults Woman & Shoots Man, Rock Hill Police Say

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS)  Rock Hill Police say a man has been arrested after hitting a woman with a weapon and shooting a 24 year old male.

Public Information Officer, Lt. Michael Chavis says police responded to the Days Inn on Riverview Road around 10:40 Wednesday morning for a shooting with a victim.

Officers were told a male with a gunshot wound was walking around the parking lot.

Chavis says 21 year old Nikele Deon Simmons of Rock Hill arrived at the hotel armed with a handgun. Chavis says Simmons threatened his child’s mother before hitting her with the weapon. Afterwards Simmons shot a 24 year old male victim before leaving the scene.

Chavis says officer located Simmons and took him into custody.

Simmons was issued warrants for Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, Pointing and Presenting of a Weapon, and Possession of a Handgun by a Person Convicted of a Violent Crime.

He has a bond hearing set for Thursday, March 25th in Rock Hill.
