Family Stays Together

York County, S.C. (CN2 News) – Braelynn Dalsing has been the subject of an adoption battle spanning 4 and a half years.

Originally, the Dalsings fostered Braelynn as a newborn, but after being asked by her biological mother the couple adopted the 5-year-old.
Things got more complicated when Braelynn’s biological father decided he wanted custody after being released from jail at the end of 2016.
The biological father Andrew Myers had his right’s terminated while he was in jail for fraud, after a judge decided he hadn’t shown he wanted to be in the little girl’s life.
The case has gone back and forth in the courts since.
After the initial adoption ruling – the father was granted custody.
At that point the Dalsing’s lawyers took it to the South Carolina Supreme Court who reinstated the girl’s adoption.
