SHOCKING: Traffic Fatalities On The Rise In York County

Here in the tri-county the latest fatal accident happened overnight Tuesday near Craig Brow Circle in Chester County adding to a growing list of lives lost in traffic fatalities in 2019.
Officials in York County are now sending a clear message to drivers not following traffic laws.
Solicitor Kevin Brackett getting together with Sheriff Kevin Tolson and south carolina Highway Patrol this wednesday.
Brackett says if traffic fatalities continue at this pace – they will double from what they were this time last year.
Calling traffic safety a major concern these agencies are joining forces to figth against it. Brackett says highway patrol is understaffed by almost 50 percent. He says he plans to use funds from a traffic safety program and money seized from drug dealers to help pay for troopers working overtime. Additionally – thanks to a federal grant – the York County Sheriff’s Office is getting two full-time traffic enforcement officers.
