Tri-County Events Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

CHESTER, LANCASTER & YORK, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – The life and legacy of  Dr. Martin Luther King, a Baptist Minister, and a prominent leader in the American Civil Rights Movement, will be observed on Monday, January 16. The tri-county will be celebrating with parades, breakfast gatherings, ceremonies and call-to-service events.

Dr. King’s birthday became a federal holiday in 1983 and was established a state holiday by all 50 states by the year 2000.

This day is dedicated and honors Dr. King’s life in achieving equality for all people and giving back to those in need.
