CHESTER, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) If you heard a loud sound this morning – don’t be alarmed. It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week, and Emergency Management offices all through the Tri-County were testing tornado drills. In Chester County, this year is monumental. For the first time, it tested three new sirens, which were installed just last year thanks to a grant from FEMA. CN2’s Indira Eskieva with how in the digital age of cell-phone alerts, sirens are still important to tornado safety.
