York Co. arrest NC officer, charging him with criminal sexual conduct with a minor

YORK COUNTY, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – The York County Sheriff’s Office says its CSO Special Victims Unit arrested a former Cornelius police officer earlier this week, charging him with sex related crimes with a minor.

25 year old Erickson Douglas Lee, of Charlotte, NC turned himself in to York County detectives on May 2nd at the Moss Justice Center in York.

Officials say Lee was previously in custody on April 30th in Charlotte for charges from the York County Sheriff’s Office, but was later released on a fugitive bond.

Officials say Lee is charged with dissemination of obscene material to a person under the age of 18, assault and battery 1st degree, criminal sexual conduct with a minor 2nd, and 3rd degree.

The alleged incidents took place in Lee’s home in Fort Mill, deputies say.

The case is still under investigation and other charges may be pending.

According to our news partners, WSOC, Lee had been working at the department since June 2021 as a patrol officer.

WSOC also reported Lee was a volunteer at MorningStar Fellowship Church in Fort Mill.

Lee was booked into the York County Detention Center.
