South Carolina Highway Patrol Responding to a Fatal Collision in Lancaster County

 

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) The South Carolina Highway Patrol responding to a fatal vehicle collision in Lancaster County that occurred on July 30th at 10:40 A.M.

The incident occurred on SC Highway 903 near Tryon Street, 4 miles east of the City of Lancaster.

Reports say a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west SC 903 and a 2010 Ford Expedition was traveling east on the highway. The Silverado was passing another vehicle on the highway, when it struck the Expedition head on.

Both drivers were traveling alone, were seat belted and needed to be extracted from the vehicles. The driver of the Silverado was transported by Emergency Medical Services, by helicopter, to an area hospital — with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Expedition was also transported by EMS to an area hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The collision is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
