Lancaster Teen Shot While Pumping Gas

LANCASTER, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – A Lancaster Teen is fighting for his life after he was shot while making a quick run to a convenience store in Lancaster this past Sunday, May 29 around 6 pm.

The family of 17 year-old Michael Foster telling us on this Tuesday, he was shot while filling up his gas tank at the Scotchman Convenience Store on Main Street. Authorities tell us the shooter managed to flee the scene while the store clerk rushed to perform CPR on Foster who was struck in the chest.

Foster’s family says he had no connection to the shooter and police are calling it a random crime.

Foster’s Aunt Kimberly Cunningham spoke with his mother, who is out of the country on vacation, said, “She told me her heart dropped. mine did too. It was just an unbelievable feeling, you know. I can’t, I really don’t have any words to describe it. It’s unbelievable. You know, she just cried until she couldn’t cry anymore. You know, and I spoke to other family members and they also were in an unbelievable state of mind, like no this can’t be happening because he don’t bother anyone. So this was more of a life shocker than anything. Out of all people, why?”

Lancaster Police have since taken 29 year-old Tyshekia Blair into custody, who they say was the driver of the vehicle, and is charged as an Accessory After The Fact.

Authorities tell us the Shooter is 22 year old Donte Townsend who is still at large and considered armed and dangerous. Police encourage anyone with information to call police.

The family telling us that Foster is in the hospital, the family praying he recovers.
