Clinton College Announces Remote Learning Will Continue This Fall

 

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) Clinton College planning to continue remote learning into the fall semester. The college saying because of COVID-19 continuing to spread in the Carolinas and the country, Clinton Colleges courses for the fall will be accesses through a program called Bridging Excellence And Remote Learning or BEAR.

The college says BEAR Learning will launch in August with a learning management system called BrightSpace. The program will be temporary and will replace in-person instruction. BEAR Learning will allow students to get a quality education in a virtual environment that includes face-to-face time with instructors, recorded lectures and open conversation with other students.

“The most important thing at this time is the safety of our students, faculty and staff,” said Dr. Alvin McLamb, Vice President of Academic Affairs. “We have been carefully monitoring the number of COVID-19 cases in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, which is where the largest number of Clinton College students reside. These states are still reporting an increase in the number of positive test results.”

The fall semester will take place over 15 weeks, and winter break will start with Thanksgiving Break — a decision that was made by the college’s leaders, earlier this year.

The college says in addition to BEAR Learning, Clinton College will introduce a fast-paced and intensive online program, Clinton Global. Clinton Global is geared towards adults who are looking for a more convenient way to get their degree. Students who enroll in one, five-week course during a time and complete four courses per semester and one during the summer. Students are able to get their degree in Business Administration or Religious Studies in 2 1/2 year or continue the program to compete a bachelor’s degree in the same field.
