South Carolina Highway Patrol Reports a Fatal Collision in Lancaster County, Leaving Two Dead

 

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) One Lancaster County mother and her 3-year-old son are deceased after a fatal collision on SC Highway 341.

The mother worked at the 521 Filling Station in Kershaw.

South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the incident occurred this past Saturday at 3:35 P.M. on SC Highway 341 near Monarch Place.

The mother was driving her 2002 Ford Explorer, south on Highway 341, with three children in the back seat.

The car traveled off the right side of the road, hitting an embankment, overturning, striking a utility pole and a tree.

The mother and the 3-year-old son sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased.

The two children who survived were air lifted to Prisma Health Richland Hospital, in Columbia, S.C.

The accident is still being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Currently, 521 Filling Station, in Kershaw, says they are working with the family to help financially.
