Rock Hill Schools Celebrate Graduates

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – More Tri-County high school seniors walked across the stage to get their degrees this past Friday where all three high schools in the Rock Hill School District held their commencement.

All together Rock Hill High School, Northwestern and South Pointe graduated over one-thousand Rock Hill School District students this past Friday and District leaders say many of these young adults are also the first in their families to ever graduate high school.

Although the 12 year journey was not easy, due to challenges brought on by Covid-19 which included remote learning, these young adults persevered and earned their diplomas.

Dr. Tommy Schmolze, Rock Hill Schools Superintendent said, “Just the hardships that they endured as a class. You’re going to hear the words perseverance, you’re going to hear the words dedication. It’s unlike any other graduation because of what they dealt with with Covid, and the trials that they lived through, virtual, a-b days then back to full. It shows resiliency for this group.”

With numerous accolades accounted for each student, combined across the district, they have more than $16 million in scholarships.
