Rock Hill Police Investigate Homicide After Man Found on Ground w/ Gunshot Wound

Rock Hill Police say they now have a suspect in custody for the homicide that took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday.

Police say after investigating, 25 year old Jamie Gavantay Williams of Rock Hill was identified as a suspect. Detective issued warrants for Williams and located at him at his home. 

He was taken into custody with incident and was served warrants for Murder, Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence, and Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm.

A Hold was also placed on Williams as he is currently Wanted by Mecklenburg County for other charges.

Police say Williams will have a bond hearing on Wednesday, November 24th in Rock Hill. 

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – The Rock Hill Police Department is investigating a homicide after officers say a man was found on the ground unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say around 2:39 AM Tuesday they received a call to check the welfare of the 32 year old male who was on the ground in the 1300 block of Coronet Court.

The caller also told dispatch that gunshots were heard about 25 minutes before.

When officers arrived they found the man unresponsive.

EMS and the York County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene where the victim was pronounced deceased.

The Rock Hill Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Services Unit were notified to continue this Homicide Investigation.
