QUILTS OF VALOR: Welcome Home Veterans!

The Quilts of Valor are basically a way of saying welcome home even if their service was many years ago.
In literal terms the quilts bring warmth and comfort.
Symbolically it’s like wrapping your arms around a veteran and saying thank you for your service.
Veterans emotional as the Quilts of Valor unveiled their new display around the rotunda at city hall. By every quilt you will find a display sharing the story of the veteran the quilt belongs to. That includes Michael Harris, a sniper who enlisted in the Vietnam War when he was just 17 years old. Harris was wounded in Vietnam when he was 19 but he says he’s one of the lucky ones.
Harris says his quilt represents friends who never made it home.
