Mom’s quick action leads to arrest of wanted suspect

CLOVER, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – Clover Law enforcement officers praising the quick actions of a mother who noticed two people who she says  seemed out of place at a community splash pad.

Turns out one of the men is wanted out of Baltimore, Maryland.

According to Clover Police Department on Thursday they received a call about two suspicious males at the Clover Splash Pad.

Once officers arrived on scene they identified one of the men as Javier Benitez, who again is wanted out of Baltimore, Maryland.

He has been arrested and is currently in jail at the Moss Justice Center.

The town of Clover posted the following statement about the incident on social media:

Clover PD is committed to the safety of our citizens and guests and maintaining a safe community. We applaud the quick actions of the mothers who noticed this individual who was out of place and notified CPD. We strongly encourage everyone to immediately notify Clover PD of any suspicious activity or persons so officers can respond.
