Father of 3 diagnosed with ALS receives hope on wheels

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – A wish has been granted for a father of 3 living with ALS in Rock Hill. who desperately needed .

Derek Ingram was diagnosed with ALS in 2021. Since then he has lost most of the ability to move on his own and relies on his wife, Amber to help him live.

Amber works places Derek into their family SUV to go anywhere with their 3 children. All Things Possible Medical Fundraising heard about the need and stepped in, collecting thousands of dollars in donations from the community.

On Tuesday, thanks to those donors, the Ingram’s have a wheelchair accessible van!

Amber and Derek say they are very grateful for the gift, but not surprised in the outpouring of support. They say it is because they know the people of Rock Hill are good caring community, a community that has seen them through other trials in their journey when Derek needed a liver transplant a few years back.

Derek is continuing to fight the disease and even has an appointment with a specialized team of Doctors at Duke University who are working to reverse symptoms of ALS.
