Elementary Students Hosting Poetry Festival

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – Rock Hill students have fired up their pens and showcasing their talents in poetry writing at the Ebenezer Avenue Elementary School Poetry Festival.

Students composed their own poems and took them to the stage and read them out loud for their classmates.

Though students are graded on participation, some students took the opportunity to bring out their inner poet and have some fun. Sykra Young says, “Because I wanted to share it and it’s really fun.”

The student poems included a variety of styles which included Acrostic, Free Verse, and Haiku’s.
