YORK COUNTY, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – Former S.C. House Majority Leader Gary Simrill was recently awarded the 2022- 23 Outstanding Public Official Award by the Friends of South Carolina Libraries.
The Friends of York County Library nominated Simrill, who now serves as Winthrop University’s Special Assistant to the President for Community Engagement.
Terry Plumb, a member of the local Friends board of directors, presented the award to Simrill.
