Chester School District feeling much safer on first day of school

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – Students in two Tri-County school districts are back in the classroom two weeks earlier than normal.

York School District One and the Chester County School District are using a modified academic calendar.

In Chester County, District Superintendent Dr. Antwon Sutton visited each of the 12 schools to stop in and say hello, and to make sure things are running smoothly.

The school’s top leader also checked out some new security measures that have been implemented throughout the district.

CN2’s Zane Cina tagged along to learn how checkpoints aim to keep students and teachers safe.
