Chester County fatal collision claims two lives

EDGEMOOR, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people died in a one vehicle crash in the town of Edgemoor in Chester County.

According to troopers a 2006 Hummer SUV was traveling south on Edgeland Road, near Fescue Road, Tuesday morning when it ran off the right side of the roadway, down an embankment, and overturned several times.

Chester County officials say the incident happened earlier Tuesday around 11:52 AM, but wasn’t reported until around 8:46 PM when a train operator saw the Hummer and called for help.

The driver and one passenger died at the scene. Another passenger was taken to a Charlotte hospital by EMS.

The identities of the two deceased have not been released at this time.

The incident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
