Chester County Council investigation: Hiring outside legal counsel

The Chester County Council is meeting this Monday night to review an investigation into a car accident involving a Chester County Animal Control employee.
In July County Council voted unanimously to hire outside legal counsel to investigate the accident which also involved a county car. Our news partner WBTV learned the driver of the car was a county employee who resigned after the accident and was later rehired by county supervisor Shane Stuart.
Chester County’s attorney Joanie Winters says the county needed to hire outside counsel to investigate because she reports directly to Shane Stuart and her involvement would be a conflict of interest. Our camera will be at the council meeting to learn about the findings of that investigation.
