Cancer Survivor Dinner

Cancer survivors of all ages who live in York County recently gathered to enjoy a barbecue dinner, cake and 80’s music while getting to hear the stories of those who beat cancer.
Relay for Life leaders say the event gives cancer survivors and their caretakers a chance to meet others who have also battled the disease.
Gay Wilson of Rock Hill is a breast cancer survivor of 12 years.
She was diagnosed in 2007 and received months of chemotherapy and radiation.
Wilson says when she learned she had cancer, she turned to her strong faith to stay positive each step of the way in her journey.
She wants other women to know the importance of mammograms and not feeling hesitant to reach out for help.
