Baldwin Trial: Day 6

One of the people they called up was pathology and forensics professor Dr. Thomas Beaver, who teaches at MUSC Charleston. Dr. Beaver testified that he reviewed around 160 photographs and 300 pages of reports in this case, and he believes that Judy Orr Baldwin’s death was accidental. Beaver also testified that he believes Judy was alive in the jeep and alive at the scene of the wreck.
During cross examination -Solicitor Candice Lively asked Dr. Beaver to clarify the meaning of non-specific injuries which is what Beaver said Judy had. Beaver said yes, the injuries could be from either a blow to the head or from a fall. After the state rested their case James Baldwin told the judge that he does not wish to testify. Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday morning.
