Armed Robbery suspect arrested in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – According to Rock Hill Police Department, on Sunday, June 11th Rock Hill Police responded to a call about a man with a gun in the 1700 block of Alyce Lane.

According to officers, when they arrived two victims told them while they were loading things into their apartment they were confronted by the suspect, Erskine Thompson and he threatened them with a gun. The victims say they fled back into the apartment for safety and the suspect ran from the scene.

The victims told police Thompson was angry about an incident that occurred the night before in regard to a female friend.

Officers say they were able to identify the suspect as 52-year-old, Erskine Thompson.

Thompson was arrested at his apartment and during a search officers found approximately 8.5 grams of cocaine.

Thompson was charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine within Proximity to a School.
