Does your Gorgeous Grandma Still “Got It”? Click for Contest Details!

TRI-COUNTY, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) – There is no better way to recognize your Gorgeous Grandma than having a fun contest and winning a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Ray’s Flowers in Lancaster.

What is National Gorgeous Grandma Day?
National Gorgeous Grandma Day is celebrated each year on July 23 to honor the matriarchs of the family. The ones who give endless love and always available to give a lot of words of wisdom for whatever circumstance there is in life.  National Day calendar says, ” the day aims to celebrate women over the age of 50 and encourages them to defy society’s standards and live it up a bit.”

National Day goes on to say that Alice Solomon, the founder of Gorgeous Grandma day, “graduated at the age of 50 from Wellesley College. She realized that society saw her and other women of her age as senior citizens, regardless of whether or not they were actual ‘grandmothers.’ Determined to challenge this thinking, she came up with the idea of ‘Gorgeous Grandma.’ Gorgeous Grandma is all about presenting an edgier image of older women and eliminating stereotypes confining them in a limited box.”
