19 Yr Old Killed in Weekend Shooting, Police it was Self-Defense

ROCK HILL, S.C. (CN2 NEWS) On Saturday, April 24th around 4:26 AM Rock Hill Police say they received a call for a disorderly at an apartment in the 1500 block of Eagles Place.  Officers were told a shooting had occurred.

When officers arrived they say they found a 19 year old male who was suffering two gunshot wounds.  Police say he later died.

After further investigation police say a verbal altercation was initiated by the male who was deceased with others in the apartment.  Police say the altercation escalated when the deceased began assaulting those in the apartment, threatening to kill them.

Police say the deceased male began strangling a male who he just assaulted.  Afterwards police say the deceased was then shot by another person in the apartment in attempt to stop the attack.

Police say the deceased then turned and started strangling a female in the apartment when he was shot a second time. The deceased stopped the assault and collapsed.

Police say after conducting interviews, collecting details for the incident and consulting with the York County Solicitors Office, police say the shooting was in self-defense and the defense of others so there will be no charged in the incident.
