JULY 29, 2010: FORT MILL, SC -- A three-year-old Fort Mill girl is battling cancer and while it's not only a mental and physical battle for her it's also a financial struggle for her family.
But the Fort Mill community is rallying around Brooklynn Richmond. This past Saturday she got to to ride a horse despite being diagnosed a form of cancer that is attacking her brain stem.
Family and friends of the Richmond family held a benefit trail ride in Fort Mill to help pay for her medical bills.
The parents of little Brooklynn say they were very appreciative of the support from the community.
"Just to see people come together and get your mind more set on getting your daughter healthy than taking care of the financial part. It just means the world to us and its been a blessing to us to have this kind of help," said Heidi Richmond.
Organizers of the benefit say they raised about $700.
