General Assignment Reporter

CN2 is looking for a versatile employee who will be a team player and work closely with all segments of the newsroom.  If you are a great one-man-band storyteller and  a self-starter, please apply for this reporter position. You must be able to generate story ideas, have a great work ethic and a can-do attitude. You should be able to gather, write and report factual and compelling television stories. We are a small, award winning cable newsroom just south of Charlotte.  


Duties:

Research stories, set-up and shoot interviews, organize day with deadline constraints.

Travel to and from news stories and gather elements.

Shoot video, write scripts and edit your own stories daily.

Opportunity to Fill-in Anchor

Community involvement is encouraged, including public appearances, parades, etc.


 



Qualifications:

 


High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in journalism or related field preferred.

1-2 Years of newsroom experience preferred and Producer experience a plus.

Must be able to carry and operate DVC pro camera and various pieces of equipment.

Must have exceptional organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.

We are searching for a candidate with a ``can do`` attitude, who will jump in where needed and deliver memorable stories.
