As the "new kid in town" the most common comment I've gotten while out and about in the tri-county area is "welcome." Well, it's actually a "welcome home" for me. Yep,

Since the very first day I stepped into the newsroom at CN2 I was criticized by John Walker and especially Dianne Gallagher for being a Duke Blue Devil fan. Why? You might ask? They are UNC Tarheel

105-Degrees = Twilight – Really, how did I get here?!?!

Wow, I moved south on purpose. It was a very conscious decision. I wanted the heat. I like the heat. I was asking for it…but this wow. There’s no other word for it, it’s darn hot outside. And it’s not so much the 105! It’s the sticky, muggy, clingy, humidity! That’s what gets you. Walking out the door it smacks you right in the face! Well, Saturday morning I got walloped in the face…the husband and I took a walk/run on the new Riverwalk. Loved it, really incredibly well done and beautiful – but almost passed out. It was so hot out…and we went in the middle of the day! Genius, I know.  Some folks (who were smarter than us:) didn’t walk the entire trail. On the round trip, I was no longer looking at the river…I was looking for another bottle of water!

So come Sunday staying inside sounded good to me. So I did it. I finally took the plunge…I dove into the Twilight series. Now understand, I read quite a bit, but this one, I’d held off on. Even through the craze and the movies, and the neighborhood book clubs – I had little interest. But now, with nowhere to go – and the book (a neighbor had loaned me) staring back at me. It was time to crack into Twilight.

So as twilight comes…I’m more than halfway through the first book – and I’m hooked! So back to it, staying cool through Twilight! Shoot me an email if the movies are worth a watch and stay cool…whatever works for you!

Saying Goodbye

As I move on to my new job as sports anchor and reporter at WBTV in Charlotte, I was to take a moment to look back and reflect on my 9 months here a CN2.

I had a wonderful time in Rock Hill since the moment I pulled up in my U-haul. I loved being able to connect within the community and I appreciate from the bottom of my heart everyone who welcomed me with open arms to the area, from my co-workers to my the coaches that I dealt with on a day-to-day basis.

One thing I will always remember is the AMAZING prep sports scene I was able to cover in York, Chester and Lancaster counties. There is such incredible talent in the area that I was absolutely shocked when I first arrived. In my short time with CN2 I had the pleasure of covering 4 state championships! That's unheard of!!! Of those 4 state championships I actually got to watch 2 of our area teams, the Northwestern soccer team and the Lancaster baseball team be go home with State titles, reminding me once again my I LOVE what I do!

CN2 will always have a place in my heart, as will the entire tri-county sports community. The good news is that I'm just heading up I-77 twenty miles north to Charlotte and I'll still be close to all of the sports I fell in love with in the Rock Hill and surrounding areas. I can't wait to get started on WBTV's Football Friday Night show where I certainly won't forget about my York, Chester and Lancaster county prep football teams! My memories of CN2 will always be a fond part of my career path and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Farewell, until you see me on Channel 3! :)
